Dear Travel Agent,
With the introduction of the new inflight meal service (Buy-on-Board), specifically on routes where there will no longer exist a complimentary meal service (Domestic Flights and Europe; RAI Flights in Economy Cabin), we inform you that in the case of passengers with severe allergies, you should contact SATA directly through the usual channels.
To identify these passengers, SATA will add SK ALRG and SR SPML to the booking with a description of the allergy and the assistance required:
E.g.,
- SK ALRG - PAX W/ SEVERE PEANUT ALLERGY BY INHALATION
and - SR SPML - PAX W/ SEVERE PEANUT ALLERGY BY INHALATION
Please note that the passenger must be informed that although no meal will be provided, by entering this information in the booking, it is possible to implement internal procedures, which, for example, allow crews to be notified of the presence of these passengers on flights.
The passenger should also be informed that, for operational reasons, we are unable to guarantee that the aircraft cabin is free of the allergen in question, as the inflight sales service cannot be altered, and that we are unable to control the food or products that other passengers are carrying. Passengers should also consult their doctor before traveling and, if necessary, transport the appropriate medication for their condition in their hand luggage.
On flights on the North American routes and in Comfort Class on other flights, passengers can request a special meal (up to 7 days before the flight departs), and the procedures will remain the same as they are today.
We thank you for your cooperation.
